The Kremlin has described the territorial dispute with Ukraine as a dispute over a few kilometers
Dmitry Peskov, a spokesperson for the Russian dictator, stated that the territorial dispute between Russia and Ukraine currently covers only a few kilometers. He emphasized that lasting peace is possible only if Volodymyr Zelenskyy makes certain decisions; otherwise, hostilities will continue.
This is reported by Russian media.
The Kremlin representative called the Easter truce a humanitarian gesture on Putin’s part, appealing to the shared observance of the holiday by Ukrainians and Russians. Despite such statements, previous rounds of negotiations between Ukraine, Russia, and the U.S. have failed to yield results regarding a ceasefire. The main obstacle remains Russia’s demand for the transfer of the unoccupied part of Donbas, to which Kyiv categorically objects.
Peskov also added that responsibility for the continuation of the special operation lies with the Ukrainian leadership, which must find the courage to meet Russia’s conditions. This statement came amid cynical remarks by U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance regarding “bargaining over square kilometers.” Ukraine continues to insist on preserving its territorial integrity and refusing to make territorial concessions to the aggressor.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin announced a temporary cessation of hostilities on the front lines, effective from 4:00 p.m. Moscow time on April 11 until the end of the day on April 12, 2026.
