The Kremlin has issued a new ultimatum to Ukraine, demanding an end to the war by the end of the day
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that the war against Ukraine could allegedly end “by the end of the day” provided that Ukrainian troops withdraw from territories that Russia considers “its own.”
According to Peskov, to end hostilities, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy must allegedly order the Armed Forces of Ukraine to leave “Russian regions.” He did not specify, however, that he was referring to temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories that Moscow has illegally declared part of the Russian Federation.
The Kremlin representative also stated that Russia is allegedly open to peace talks and would prefer to achieve its goals through diplomatic means. At the same time, he threatened to continue the war if Kyiv refuses to accept Moscow’s terms.
Additionally, the Kremlin stated that, despite a pause in negotiations to end the war in Ukraine, Russia continues to maintain contact with the United States on this issue.
