A relay station used to control Russian "Geranium" systems was struck in Crimea
On August 12, Ukrainian drones struck a relay station for the Russian “Geran” strike drone command-and-control system in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea. A number of other key Russian military targets in the occupied territories were also struck.
On the night of August 12, Ukrainian defense forces struck:
- a ground-based relay station for controlling “Geran”/“Gerbera” attack drones in the Olenivka area of the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea;
- an enemy repair unit in the Mariupol area of Donetsk Oblast;
- a staging area for personnel of the occupiers’ unmanned systems unit near Mariivka, Luhansk Oblast.
The General Staff noted that striking these targets weakens the enemy’s ability to control attack drones, maintain military equipment, and support the operations of its units.
As of August 12, 2026, the Russian army had lost another 1,260 soldiers over the past 24 hours. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released this data in its morning report.
Over the past day, the occupiers lost 1,130 soldiers and more than 400 pieces of equipment.
In the Kherson region, one person was killed and two were wounded as a result of Russian shelling.
