Four people were killed in Novorossiysk as a result of the failure of Russia’s air defense and electronic warfare systems
In Novorossiysk, Krasnodar Krai, Russian Federation, on the night of September 8–9, four people, including a child, were killed as a result of the failure of Russian air defense and electronic warfare systems during an attack by Ukrainian drones. Another 29 city residents were injured, three of whom are in critical condition.
This was reported by Veniamin Kondratyev, governor of the Krasnodar Krai. According to him, the injured can be transported to regional medical centers if necessary.
As a result of the attack, five apartment buildings and three private homes were damaged, as well as a church and a kindergarten. Eyewitnesses posted videos of a fire in a nine-story building on Volgogradskaya Street.
On the morning of September 9, Novorossiysk Mayor Andriy Kravchenko reported that drone debris had fallen on industrial sites. According to Astra, which analyzed footage released by eyewitnesses, the target of the attack may have been the Novorossiysk fuel oil terminal, part of Russia’s largest commercial seaport. A fire broke out on the terminal’s grounds.
The aftermath of the attack was also reported in Anapa. Kondratyev stated that drone debris fell on three private homes and a kindergarten. According to him, there were no casualties there.
In addition, cleanup efforts are underway in the Krymsky and Temryuk districts of the Krasnodar Krai.
In the Sumy region, Russian troops carried out a series of strikes on civilian targets. An 83-year-old woman was killed in the attacks, and at least 16 other people were injured.
As a reminder, fires broke out at industrial facilities in the Kyiv region due to an attack by the Russian Federation.
Russia also launched a massive attack on Kyiv, killing and wounding civilians.
Later, rescue workers showed the aftermath of the strikes on Kyiv.
