The occupiers are attempting to break through the defenses in the Kharkiv region using infantry units
Russian troops in the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector are attempting to advance in small infantry groups. The occupiers are covering their attacks with KABs and using vegetation for cover.
According to Ivan Vyhovsky, in the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, the enemy is trying to push forward and is actively using KABs to do so. Strikes are directed at access routes and crossings, while simultaneously destroying settlements where local residents still remain.
“The enemy is trying to push forward, attempting to destroy access routes and crossing points with KAB bombs, thereby destroying villages, populated areas where many local residents currently live, causing damage not only to roads but also to buildings, schools, and ordinary civilians,” “Viking” said.
The Ukrainian military, for its part, is trying to consolidate its positions and destroy the enemy while it’s still on the approaches.
Drone operators play a key role in this, as they also track enemy aircraft.
“We’re trying to consolidate our positions and destroy the enemy on the approaches, destroy all aircraft flying in that area to identify crossings and try to cut off the approaches to these positions,” the sergeant major noted.
He added that Russian troops continue to send out small infantry groups.
The occupiers are trying to sneak forward unnoticed, take cover in the trees or bushes, and then may attempt to raise the Russian flag even on destroyed positions.
According to “Viking,” Ukrainian defenders have already thoroughly studied the terrain and understand the enemy’s tactics.
“We’ve already studied this territory well and understand their tactics, which aren’t all that sophisticated. They just move to the right so that someone might get through, because if they send an endless stream of cannon fodder, of course, one of them will hide somewhere, and then we’ll have to spend some time finding and eliminating him. And their tactics are standard,” he explained.
This was discussed on Suspilne by the chief sergeant of the UAV company of the motorized infantry battalion of the 58th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky, whose call sign is “Viking.”

Talks took place in Kyiv between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and U.S. presidential representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
The part of Donbas controlled by Ukraine remains a key obstacle and the main “red line” in the negotiation process aimed at ending the war. Despite the visit to Kyiv by U.S. President’s Special Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner with updated peace proposals, differences regarding the region’s future remain fundamental. Zelenskyy told Witkoff that he would not cede any territory to Russia under any circumstances.
Following the meeting in Kyiv, Witkoff announced peace talks in a Ukraine-Europe-U.S. format.
In addition to issues regarding the cessation of hostilities and security guarantees, the parties discussed the country’s postwar recovery and the mobilization of resources for reconstruction, as well as economic guarantees designed to prevent another war from breaking out.
