Russia has decided to carry out a new mobilization this fall due to setbacks on the front lines

Russia may announce another mobilization this fall amid the difficult situation on the Ukrainian front, the failure of the winter-spring offensive, and significant losses. This was stated by State Duma Deputy Andrei Gurulov, who linked the possible decision to Russia’s military setbacks in the war against Ukraine.

“Right now, there is active talk in the corridors and high-level offices about the need for a new large-scale mobilization. Moreover, informed sources say that a fundamental decision on this matter has already been made and it will take place in the fall,” Gurulov wrote.

According to him, however, such a decision “will not lead to a breakthrough” unless the problem of Ukrainian Armed Forces drones is resolved—drones that “pick off the infantry” on the approaches, prevent assault groups from “raising their heads,” and have “literally overwhelmed” both the front lines and the immediate rear. “We will simply see a multiple increase in casualties,” Gurulov predicts.

According to him, the advance on the front has “effectively stalled,” and “the Special Operations Forces have finally shifted into the format of the harshest positional stalemate,” which is a “harbinger of exhaustion if the initiative is not seized in time.”

“Enough with the illusions that ‘we’re about to break through.’ That won’t happen until we radically change our approach,” Gurulov urges.
