Authorities in the Ryazan Region of the Russian Federation have ordered companies to recruit people for contract service to participate in the war against Ukraine.
This was reported by the Conflict Intelligence Team (CIT) analytical group.
Governor Pavel Malkov signed the relevant decree. According to the document, companies, regardless of ownership, must ensure the recruitment of two to five candidates depending on the number of employees.
The document refers to decrees issued by Russian dictator Putin in 2022, which expand the powers of regional authorities to meet the needs of the army.
At the same time, the decree does not provide for direct liability for failure to fulfill such “tasks.”
Experts note that such a practice may have existed previously, but this is the first time a public document with specific requirements for businesses has appeared.
Against this backdrop, Russian authorities publicly deny the need for a new wave of mobilization.
