The Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated a Russian kickboxing master of sports on the front lines
Ukrainian defense forces have eliminated Russian occupier Sergei Lavrentyev.
Sergei Lavrentyev was the former director of the construction company “Alza” and a Russian master of sports in kickboxing, according to Russian media reports.
The Chuvashia Kickboxing Association reported on his death and funeral. The occupier’s funeral took place on April 23, 2026.
It is known that Lavrentiev served in the Russian Airborne Forces and was a member of an assault brigade.
Russian propaganda outlets have not yet disclosed the exact date of his death.
The first reports of Lavrentiev’s death appeared as early as August 2024. Later, in January 2025, information spread online that he was considered missing in action.
Before participating in the war, Sergei Lavrentiev headed the construction company “Alza,” which he acquired in 2002. At that time, the company specialized in manufacturing workwear, but beginning in 2004, it began constructing garages and performing contract work.
In December 2013, Alza began construction of a biathlon center in Chuvashia.
By the mid-2010s, the company found itself in a difficult financial situation. The company failed to complete the construction of two residential buildings, and in 2019, Lavrentiev was detained. He was charged with fraud on an especially large scale and abuse of official authority, which resulted in serious consequences.
According to the investigation, between November 2014 and August 2016, at Lavrentiev’s instruction, his subordinates produced forged documents. These were submitted for signature to Alexei Yakovlev, Deputy Minister of Sports of Chuvashia. The documents stated that the company “Alza” had allegedly purchased and supplied sports equipment for the biathlon center under a government contract, although this did not actually happen.
In September 2020, the court handed down its verdict in this case: Yakovlev received 5.5 years in a general-regime penal colony, and Lavrentiev received eight years in prison.
Construction of the biathlon center was not completed until 2025.
Prior to that, Ukrainian troops had eliminated a Russian occupier on the front lines who had previously been an amateur soccer player. This refers to Alexander Susin, who played for several Russian clubs and worked as a youth coach.
