A major oil port in Russia has caught fire — Bloomberg
Following a drone attack near Novorossiysk on May 23, a fire broke out at one of Russia’s main oil export hubs on the Black Sea. According to Bloomberg, citing NASA satellite imagery, a large-scale temperature anomaly has been detected in the area of the Grushova Balka terminal and oil depot.
Novorossiysk is a key port for Russian oil exports, through which approximately 500,000 barrels per day are shipped.
The temperature anomaly, as the agency notes, extends into the mountains near Novorossiysk and has been detected at the Grushova Balka oil depot. This is the largest oil storage facility in the entire Caucasus, which accumulates raw materials for export via Novorossiysk and includes more than 60 tanks with a total capacity of about 1.2 million tons.
