Consumers in six regions were left without power due to attacks by the Russian Federation

As of the morning of September 25, Russian attacks on energy infrastructure have caused new power outages in six regions of Ukraine. At the same time, due to adverse weather conditions, approximately 150 settlements in the Sumy and Poltava regions remain without power.

“As a result of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure, as of this morning there are new power outages in the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Odesa, and Mykolaiv regions. 

Wherever security conditions currently permit, emergency repair work is already underway,” the statement reads.

Due to adverse weather conditions, approximately 150 settlements in the Sumy and Poltava regions remain fully or partially without power.

Regional power company crews are continuing repair work. At the same time, in Sumy Oblast, restoring power to some settlements is complicated by the lack of adequate safety conditions.

As of 9:30 a.m. on September 25, electricity consumption was 5.3% lower than at the same time the previous day.

Ukrenergo explained that this shift is due to reduced cloud cover in some regions, allowing residential solar power plants to operate more efficiently.

Given the weather conditions, energy officials are urging Ukrainians to shift their peak electricity usage to the period between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. It is during this time that industrial solar power plants operate most efficiently.

At the same time, between 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., consumers are asked not to turn on several high-power electrical appliances at the same time in order to reduce the load on the power grid.

As a reminder, Russian troops attacked the Sumy community overnight with an FPV drone using fiber-optic guidance. The drone struck near a kindergarten building.

On the morning of September 25, in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv, a drone was reported to have struck a five-story non-residential building. Preliminary reports indicate there are casualties; emergency services are en route to the scene.

As a reminder, in Kyiv’s Dniprovskyi district, a residential neighborhood was destroyed as a result of a Russian attack on September 24. According to preliminary information, there were no fatalities among residents.

Also, in Obolon, a drone crashed onto the grounds of a garage cooperative.
