A food processing plant caught fire in Zaporizhzhia following an attack by the Russian Federation
Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia for several hours with guided bombs and drones. One of the drones struck a food processing plant, causing a fire there.
According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties. Emergency services are on the scene dealing with the aftermath of the attack.
The Russian army launched another strike on Zaporizhzhia this evening. According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, one of the enemy drones struck a food processing plant. The strike caused a fire to break out on the factory’s premises. “The strike by a Russian drone set the premises of the food processing plant on fire,” Ivan Fedorov reported.
He added that there have been no reports of casualties or injuries so far. Meanwhile, emergency services continue to assess the site of the strike and determine the full extent of the damage. According to regional authorities, Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia for several hours this evening. Initially, the occupiers used guided aerial bombs (GABs), and later began launching strikes with attack drones.
Rescue workers and other emergency services are on the scene. They are extinguishing the fire and inspecting the area for further damage. Regional authorities are urging residents not to ignore air raid sirens and to remain in shelters until an official all-clear is issued, as the threat of further strikes by Russian forces persists. Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported this on Telegram.
Over the past 18 days, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ unmanned aerial vehicle units have struck 83 energy facilities in the occupied territories and deep within enemy lines. Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, commander of the UAV Forces, stated that the last 12 targets were struck in just the past three days.
