Ukraine will respond in kind to the Easter truce — Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is prepared to respond in kind to the Easter ceasefire announced by Russia.

At the same time, the head of state made it clear that the Kremlin has the opportunity to refrain from shelling not only during the holidays, but also after they end.

This was reported with reference to Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s Telegram channel.

Zelenskyy’s Response

Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine has repeatedly proposed a ceasefire for the duration of the Easter holidays and will now act accordingly.

"People need an Easter free of threats and real progress toward peace, and Russia has a chance not to resume attacks after Easter," the president said.

Earlier, the Kremlin announced that Vladimir Putin had ordered a halt to hostilities on all fronts from 4:00 p.m. on April 11 until the end of the day on April 12—in connection with Orthodox Easter.

He has already issued the relevant orders to his defense minister and the chief of the General Staff.
