Ukraine has won the battle for the Black Sea, and the Russian fleet has been driven into port — Kubilius

Ukraine has managed to shift the balance of power in the Black Sea and has effectively forced the Russian fleet back to its home ports through the effective use of unmanned systems.

This was stated by European Commissioner for Defense and Space Andrius Kubilius during the Black Sea Security Forum, according to Ukrinform.

According to Kubilius, Ukrainian naval and aerial drones forced the Russian fleet to abandon active operations in the Black Sea. He called this the Russian Federation’s greatest naval defeat in over a century—since the Russo-Japanese War.

The European Commissioner noted that the turning point in the naval conflict began with the defense of Zmiinyi Island and the destruction of the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet—the cruiser “Moscow.”

In his view, Ukraine is gradually seizing the initiative in other areas as well. Drones are not only holding back the Russian advance on land, at sea, and in the air, but are also increasingly striking targets deep within Russian territory.

Kubilius also emphasized that the European Union will continue to support Ukraine and increase its assistance. According to him, Ukraine today has one of the most combat-ready armies in Europe and one of the most innovative defense industries in the world.

The European Commissioner expressed his conviction that in the future, Ukraine will become an important component of the European security system and will play a key role in the formation of the European Defense Union.

The Russian army is already experiencing a shortage of personnel on the front lines — Gnativ.

The occupiers complain that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are cutting off the land corridor to Crimea with drones.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated another 1,020 Russian soldiers on the front lines over the past 24 hours.
