Ukrainian F-16 pilots are forced to limit their use of missiles due to a shortage of ammunition. In some cases, the fighter jets use their onboard cannons to destroy Russian drones and cruise missiles.
A Ukrainian F-16 pilot with the call sign “Phantom” spoke about this in an interview with Newsmax. According to him, the Defense Forces are critically short of American missiles, particularly Patriot and AIM-120 missiles.
Due to limited stockpiles, the military has to ration the use of missiles, reserving them primarily for the purposes for which they are essential. During certain combat missions, pilots switch to using aircraft cannons.
