The Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out a series of precision strikes on strategic targets belonging to the Russian occupiers, including an oil refinery, air defense systems, and command posts.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On the night of May 27, the Tuapse Oil Refinery in the city of Tuapse (Krasnodar Krai, Russian Federation) was struck. According to military sources, a fire and smoke were observed on the refinery’s premises. The refinery has a capacity of approximately 12 million tons of oil per year and supplies fuel to, among others, the Russian armed forces.

Ukrainian units also used Storm Shadow missiles to strike software and hardware complexes for automated reconnaissance systems of the Russian Air Force in the Voronezh, Taganrog, and Sevastopol areas.

In addition, command posts of Russian units in the Luhansk region, a logistics depot in Sorokine, and a UAV production facility in the Azovskoye area (Zaporizhzhia region) were struck.

According to the General Staff, the “Nebo-SV” radar station near Kamianka and the command and control vehicle of the “Buk-M2” system near Kadiivka were also struck.

The General Staff emphasizes that the extent of the damage and enemy losses is being clarified.

On the night of May 28, powerful explosions were heard in the temporarily occupied city of Mariupol. Following the drone attack, a massive fire broke out in one of the city’s districts.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy promised new long-range operations designed to force the aggressor country to pay for the war it started with its own losses. The head of state approved the relevant plans during a detailed meeting with Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi and Chief of the General Staff Andriy Hnatov. The president emphasized that if Russia continues to choose military action, the Russian oil industry will continue to shrink.
