Ukrzaliznytsia reported 23 Russian strikes on its facilities over the past 24 hours
On May 13, Ukrzaliznytsia came under a massive Russian attack, resulting in 23 strikes on railway infrastructure facilities. Despite the damage, train service continues across the entire network. Railway workers are currently working to address the aftermath of the strikes and restore the damaged facilities.
This was reported to journalists by Dmytro Lytvyn, the President of Ukraine’s advisor on communications.
"Damaged: 3 locomotives, 7 commuter cars, 8 freight cars, 5 traction substations, 5 depots, 2 bridges," he relayed information from Ukrzaliznytsia.
At the same time, the state-owned company noted that there were no injuries or fatalities among passengers, as monitoring teams stopped trains and evacuated passengers in a timely manner.
"At the workplace: everyone was successfully moved to shelters in time to avoid the strikes; one employee was injured (a minor injury sustained while moving to the shelter, a contusion). Outside the workplace: in Zdolbuniv, among the civilians who died, there were two railway workers who were not on duty during the attack on the city, and one was wounded," added Lytvyn.
Ukrzaliznytsia is changing its ticket sales rules.
