Key facilities at the Chornomorets Stadium in Odesa have resumed operations
At the Chornomorets Stadium in Odesa, which was damaged by Russian shelling, a significant portion of the restoration work has already been completed.
At the same time, all major facilities on the complex’s grounds continue to operate.
“A significant portion of the restoration work has already been completed, and the hotel, office, gym, conference rooms, and all other facilities on our grounds continue to operate as usual,” the statement reads.
According to the press service, the remaining tasks include replacing some of the glass and installing new windows.
During the Russian attack, a stadium employee was injured by shards of glass. The woman received the necessary medical care at the hospital. She is currently doing well.
Other employees and people inside the stadium took shelter during the attack and were not injured.
Russian troops attacked Odesa on August 7. The “Chornomorets” soccer stadium sustained damage as a result of the shelling.
In particular, the roof, windows, and stands were damaged. After the attack, stadium officials assessed the extent of the damage and determined the scope of necessary repairs.
The next match at the stadium is scheduled for August 30. As part of the 4th round of the UPL, Odesa’s “Chornomorets” is set to host Kryvyi Rih’s “Kryvbas.”
Meanwhile, the UPL second-round match between “Chornomorets” and “Kolos” has been rescheduled by decision of the UPL Board.
The stadium serves as the home arena for Odesa’s “Chornomorets” and the women’s team FC “Sisters.”
Until 2020, the stadium belonged to the now-bankrupt Imexbank. That same year, the Deposit Guarantee Fund sold the complex to the American company Allrise Capital for 193.8 million hryvnias. Allrise Capital also owns FC Sisters.
