The All-Russian Drone Operators' Convention was canceled due to the threat posed by drones
The organizers of the All-Russian “Dronnitsa” Conference of Combat Drone Operators, scheduled for August 29–30 in Veliky Novgorod, announced the cancellation of the event due to the threat of a Ukrainian strike.
On the project’s Telegram channel, organizers stated that they had received information regarding preparations for a “combined operation” by the Ukrainian Armed Forces involving the use of ballistic missiles. Following consultations with the security services, the decision to cancel was made to ensure that air defense forces and security personnel remain focused on protecting industrial facilities and factories in the Novgorod region.
The project’s ideologist, Alexei Chaadaev, confirmed the postponement of the conference. The event had been held annually since 2022 to train UAV operators and electronic warfare specialists and to facilitate the exchange of military experience.
