In Odessa, authorities urged parents not to send their children to school until the all-clear signal was given
Residents of Odesa were asked to keep their children at home until the air raid alert ended. Parents were also advised to pay attention to the emotional and physical well-being of schoolchildren.
The Odessa City Council’s Department of Education and Science published an appeal to Odessa residents—parents of schoolchildren—on the morning of Friday, September 11.
Parents were reminded that an air raid alert had lasted nearly all night in the city. In the morning, it was “once again prolonged.”
“Please keep your children at home until the air raid alert is lifted,” the department emphasized.
Ukrainians were urged not to rush “to educational institutions immediately after a difficult, sleepless night.” Instead, adults are advised to pay attention to their child’s condition and assess how they are feeling.
“It might be better to keep them home today,” the department suggested.
For children whose parents are unable to keep them at home, on-call groups will be available at educational institutions. At the same time, it is emphasized that during an air raid alert, children must remain in shelters.
After the all-clear, each school will operate in accordance with the security situation and the approved protocol. Parents will be notified of the school’s operating schedule via class chat groups.
“Today, their safety and well-being are more important than any lesson,” the Department of Education and Science concluded.
As a reminder, during the morning air raid alert on September 11, two gas stations were hit. This was reported by Telegram channels.
On September 10, a Russian “Shahed”-type jet drone attacked the “Ukrnafta” gas station complex in Kyiv. Reports indicate that there were casualties among people who were near the gas station.
The occupiers attacked a gas station in Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi district twice. After the first strike, a passenger car caught fire at the scene, and a public transit stop and an 8-story non-residential building were damaged.
