Reports from Omsk indicate that men are being forcibly sent to war
Reports have begun to surface in Omsk, Russia, of men being detained on the streets and subsequently forced to sign contracts for military service.
In particular, relatives of a 31-year-old local resident claim that on August 8, he was detained by unknown individuals in civilian clothing, after which he was taken to a military recruitment center. According to them, he was pressured there and forced to sign a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Similar cases have reportedly been documented in other Russian regions, particularly in the Penza and Ulyanovsk regions. Human rights activists suggest that Russian authorities are intensifying their methods of recruiting contract soldiers due to a decline in the number of people willing to volunteer for military service.
