In Russia, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Oleksandr Mityuk, a 31-year-old resident of the Luhansk region, to five and a half years in a penal colony on charges of “participation in a terrorist organization.”
Reportedly, the basis for the criminal prosecution was his service in the “Azov” Brigade. He will serve his sentence in a general-regime penal colony.
According to Russian media, Mityuk was born in Rubizhne, Luhansk Oblast. In Russia and the temporarily occupied territories, Ukrainian prisoners of war are regularly tried under “terrorism” charges for serving in the “Azov” and “Aidar” units.
