Madyar reported that thousands of vehicles were affected on Highway R-280
Commander of the “Madyar’s Birds” unit Robert Brovdi, call sign “Madyar,” reacted sharply to a statement by Yevgeny Balitsky, the occupation leader of the Zaporizhzhia region, regarding alleged full control over the R-280 highway. According to the military officer, in just the first three weeks of July, the number of Russian vehicles destroyed in this area exceeded one thousand.
Robert Brovdi, commander of the Ukrainian “Madyar’s Birds” unit, with the call sign “Madyar,” commented on statements by the occupation authorities of the Zaporizhzhia region regarding the situation on the R-280 highway, which connects the occupied territories with Crimea. His reaction was prompted by remarks from Yevhen Balytskyi, the Russian-appointed head of the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, who claimed that the R-280 highway is allegedly under full Russian control.
In response, Madyar cast doubt on this statement and noted that the actual situation on the highway differs significantly from the official reports of the occupying authorities. “How can you not react? ‘The R-280 highway, which supplies Crimea, is under control…’ You can’t be that naive, spitting in the face of the Führer himself…,” the military officer wrote.
According to Madyar, the Russian army continues to lose equipment in this area, and attacks by Ukrainian drones show no signs of stopping.
He claims that between July 1 and 21, the number of vehicles hit by kamikaze drones exceeded one thousand. “Between July 1 and 21, the number of kamikaze vehicles destroyed surpassed four digits. The final tally will be available at the end of the month; all other data is available online on ‘Pidrachuyka’ in the section ‘Freight Transport, Specialized Equipment, Fuel Tankers,’" he noted.
At the same time, Madyar did not provide detailed evidence to support the figures he cited. The data he published is a statement by a unit commander and has not been independently verified by other sources. At the end of his post, the soldier also made an emotional appeal to representatives of the occupying authorities and expressed confidence in Ukraine’s victory. “We will stand firm. Moscow will fall. We will feed and rebuild Crimea,” Madyar wrote.
The R-280 highway is one of the key logistical routes that Russia uses to supply its troops and support occupied Crimea. That is why this route is regularly mentioned in reports from the Ukrainian military and the occupying authorities, who assess the situation there differently.
