Auchan and Nestlé's Russian assets will be managed by a customs officer who ran over a 5-year-old boy
Andrey Krayushkin, a former high-ranking official at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, turned out to be the CEO of “L.E.V. Management,” the company to which Russia transferred the management of the assets of Auchan, Nestlé, and Leroy Merlin. In 2020, he was involved in a high-profile traffic accident in the Moscow region, where he struck a five-year-old boy at a crosswalk.
“L.E.V. Management,” which took over the management of the Russian assets of major international brands on September 17, is headed by former Ministry of Internal Affairs official Andrei Krayushkin. As “Important Stories” discovered and ASTRA confirmed, Krayushkin became the company’s CEO on September 10—just one week before the assets were transferred to it.
Among the companies now under the management of “L.E.V. Management” are the Russian subsidiaries of Auchan, Nestlé, and Leroy Merlin. Vladimir Putin signed the corresponding decree on September 17. But what is attracting the most attention right now is not just Krayushkin’s new appointment, but his past.
A Traffic Accident Involving a Five-Year-Old Boy
In March 2020, Andrei Krayushkin, who at the time was first deputy head of the Main Directorate for Migration Affairs of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, struck a child in Dmitrov, near Moscow. The five-year-old boy was crossing the street at a crosswalk with his mother. According to Life, the child was riding a scooter next to his mother when the accident occurred.
After the collision, according to the publication, Krayushkin did not call an ambulance or the police to the scene. Eyewitnesses reported that he walked nearby and apologized. Passersby called for medical personnel and traffic police. The boy was hospitalized. He was diagnosed with a closed head injury, a concussion, and a displaced closed fracture of the middle third of his right tibia.
Life also reported that Krayushkin was sober at the time of the accident. It was this story that drew attention once again after news of his new appointment broke.
Who Is Andriy Krayushkin
Krayushkin worked in the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and in 2016 became the first deputy head of the Main Directorate for Migration Affairs. In 2025, this directorate was dissolved. The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Service for Citizenship and Registration of Foreign Citizens was established on its basis. It is unclear from open sources exactly what Kraushkin did after leaving the Ministry of Internal Affairs and before his appointment as head of “L.E.V. Management.”
According to leaked information, he previously listed Military Unit No. 5128, which is part of the Russian National Guard, as his registered address. ASTRA also found that as of 2023, Krayushkin owned at least two apartments in the Bibirevo district of Moscow. Their areas were 32.7 and 80.3 square meters. He also owned a 2019 Lexus RX.
In his 2017 financial disclosure statement, Krayushkin reported an income of over 2.2 million rubles. At that time, he also owned a half-share in another apartment measuring 86.2 square meters, a garage, two plots of land, a bathhouse, and a 2012 Toyota Land Cruiser 120 Prado.
What Krayushkin’s Company Received
On September 17, Russia transferred the Russian assets of several large companies to “L.E.V. Management” for temporary administration. Among them are Auchan, Nestlé, and Leroy Merlin, which, after changing its name in Russia, operates as “Lemana PRO.” According to RBC, the company received 100% of the shares in the respective entities. In addition, the structures of the logistics companies “FM Logistic” and the “Bati” Group, as well as the construction company “Enzhe Stroy,” were transferred to “L.E.V. Management.”
“L.E.V. Management” itself was registered in 2024. Its primary activity is consulting on commercial operations and management. According to the registry, Krayushkin became CEO on September 10, 2026. Thus, just one week after his appointment, the company gained control over the assets of major international brands in Russia. However, information about the owners of “L.E.V. Management” is not disclosed in public records.
What Is Known About Auchan and Leroy Merlin in Russia
After Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Auchan and Leroy Merlin continued to operate in the Russian market. In 2023, Leroy Merlin announced the transfer of its Russian business to local management. Later, the Russian entity changed its name to “LE MONLID,” and the chain of stores operates under the “Lemana PRO” brand.
Auchan also remained in the Russian market. In 2024, the company stated that it was continuing its operations in Russia. Nestlé’s Russian assets, meanwhile, remained part of the international company. Now, however, they—along with the Auchan and “Lemana PRO” entities—have been transferred to the temporary management of the Russian company “L.E.V. Management.” This was reported by the Telegram channel.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin signed a decree transferring the Russian assets of a number of Western companies to temporary management. The list includes 100% of Auchan LLC, two Russian subsidiaries of Nestlé—“Nestlé Russia” and “Nestlé Kuban”—as well as “Le Monlid” LLC, which owns the “Lemana PRO” chain (formerly Leroy Merlin).
