Video: An entire street in the Osokorky neighborhood of Kyiv has been completely destroyed by heavy shelling
On the night of June 15, Russian forces launched a large-scale combined attack on Kyiv, using “Zircon” ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and “Shahed”-type attack drones.
As a result of enemy strikes and falling debris in the Darnytskyi district of the capital, particularly in Osokorky, an entire street in the residential area was almost completely destroyed.
In total, damage and large-scale fires were reported at about 50 locations across the city, affecting nine districts. Four civilians fell victim to the occupiers’ nighttime terror, and another 30 people sustained injuries of varying severity.
A powerful blast wave and direct hits reduced residential buildings in Osokorky to complete ruins, where rescuers are currently continuing to extinguish the fire.
Due to significant damage to major power lines, the northern part of the Ukrainian capital is partially without power—over 140,000 customers are without electricity.
In addition to the Darnytskyi district, serious damage to residential buildings was reported in the Obolonskyi, Solomianskyi, Desnianskyi, and Pecherskyi districts, where high-rise buildings were on fire and dozens of cars were burned.
Residents of the destroyed homes were evacuated to safe locations, and mobile aid stations were set up on site, with psychologists from the State Emergency Service on hand.
In addition to strikes on residential neighborhoods, Russian invaders deliberately targeted unique sites of Ukraine’s cultural and historical heritage.
One of the enemy drones struck the Stefanivsky Chapel in the altar area of the legendary Assumption Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, causing a major fire on the roof of the shrine.
The Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Film Studio also came under fire; as a result of a fire in the workshop, the oldest collection of stage costumes was completely destroyed.
