Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that over the past week, Russian troops have carried out large-scale airstrikes on Ukrainian territory, using approximately 2,200 attack drones, more than 1,800 guided bombs, and 87 missiles of various types.
According to him, in the last 24 hours alone, five people were killed and 26 others were injured in Zaporizhzhia as a result of Russian guided air bomb strikes, while in Poltava, two people were killed and 12 were injured, including children.
Zelenskyy expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and the injured and emphasized that the Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Odesa, Sumy, Donetsk, Kirovohrad, and Rivne regions were also under attack by Russia. He also noted that communities near the front lines and along the border are under constant drone attacks.
The president emphasized that a key outcome of international meetings—including the G7 and European Council summits and the UDCG meeting—was new aid to strengthen Ukraine’s defense.
At the same time, Zelenskyy stressed the need to implement the agreements as quickly as possible, particularly regarding the supply of missiles for air defense systems, which are intended to provide better protection for the civilian population against Russian attacks.
