Video: An oil depot in the Kuban region caught fire for the second time this month following a drone attack

In the village of Poltavskaya in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, a fire broke out at an oil depot on the night of June 25—the second such incident in June—following a drone strike. According to local residents, at least three fuel tanks are on fire.

According to local residents, the fire has engulfed three tanks, some of which are full. Footage shows flames and smoke rising above the oil depot. No official confirmation has yet been received from the Krasnodar Krai operational headquarters.

Poltava Oil Depot JSC is not a production facility but a logistics hub: it receives petroleum products from the Lukoil refinery and distributes them through its own network of gas stations (34 traditional and 9 multi-fuel stations under the PNB brand) and to other consumers in the Krasnodar Krai and the Republic of Adygea. The tank farm consists of 28 tanks with a total capacity of 14,950 cubic meters. The facility is located 80 kilometers west of Krasnodar and approximately 385 kilometers from the front line.

The Krasnodar Krai is one of Russia’s key rear regions in the war against Ukraine. A significant portion of the fuel for the army in the southern and eastern sectors is supplied from here.

On June 16, this same oil depot was already on fire following a nighttime drone raid—at that time, 32 people and seven pieces of equipment were deployed to extinguish the blaze, and the road between the village and the Trudobelikovskoye hamlet was temporarily closed. Earlier, on June 6, a branch of the same company in Ust-Labinsk was attacked—the fire engulfed about 5,000 square meters.

Since the beginning of 2026, the Krasnodar Region has suffered more than ten attacks on its oil infrastructure, including four attacks on Tuapse, an attack on an oil depot in Novorossiysk, and attacks on facilities in the Labinsk District.
