At the start of the full-scale invasion, residents of Tuapse, Russia, actively supported the aggression against Ukraine; however, they are now increasingly complaining about the consequences of the war.
In 2022, the city saw widespread use of Z and V symbols, as well as car rallies and public events in support of the Russian army. Even children were drawn into these propaganda events—schools organized themed assemblies and “lessons.”
By 2026, however, the situation had changed: residents of Tuapse are complaining about constant explosions, strikes on infrastructure, and deteriorating living conditions.
In particular, following incidents at the oil refinery, the coastline has been polluted with fuel oil, posing environmental risks and making recreation impossible.
Locals are also expressing dissatisfaction with the authorities, whom they consider to be inactive.
Additionally, on the morning of April 15, Ukrainian “Lyuty” strike drones attacked a petrochemical plant in the city of Sterlitamak, located in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russian Federation.
In Sterlitamak, Bashkortostan—one of the centers of the Russian Federation’s chemical and petrochemical industries—an attack was recorded on facilities that may be linked to the production of components for military equipment.
