On the eve of the Ukrainian drone attack on the Borisoglebsk military airfield in the Voronezh region, Russia deployed seven Su-35 fighter jets there. This is confirmed by satellite images obtained by the publication “Military.”

According to the publication, satellite images from July 7, 2026, showed seven Su-35 fighter jets parked side by side in standard combat aircraft parking bays. Also present at the airfield were eight Yak-130 training aircraft, two Mi-8-series helicopters, and one Mi-26 heavy transport helicopter.

At the same time, NASA’s FIRMS fire and heat anomaly monitoring service detected a significant rise in temperature specifically in the area where the fighter jets were parked following the attack.

According to “Military,” it is not known for certain which unit the aircraft belonged to. However, the Borisoglebsk airfield is used by the 105th Mixed Aviation Division, which includes fighter regiments equipped with Su-35s.
