Video: After the attack on Wildberries in the Leningrad Region, about 1,500 business owners lost their merchandise
About 1,500 sellers on the Russian marketplace Wildberries lost their merchandise as a result of a fire at a warehouse in the Leningrad Region following an attack by Ukrainian drones. This was stated by the region’s governor, Alexander Drozdenco.
According to him, Wildberries is already taking steps to support the affected sellers, but regional authorities also plan to assist the business owners.
Drozdzenko said that sellers will be offered preferential loans to replenish their working capital so they can continue operating and not lose their businesses due to the destruction of their products.
In addition, the economic department of the Leningrad Region government is to develop additional support measures if the proposed assistance proves insufficient.
The regional authorities will also establish a special task force to coordinate efforts among affected business owners, the Wildberries marketplace, and local agencies. The task force is scheduled to begin operations next week.
A fire broke out at a Wildberries warehouse in the Leningrad Region following a drone attack. This is not the first of the company’s logistics facilities to sustain damage as a result of strikes on Russian territory. Due to these risks, some sellers had previously begun refusing to store their goods in the marketplace’s warehouses.
