Video: Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a Su-34, a military airfield, and an oil refinery in Russia
On the night of August 21, Ukrainian drones struck a Russian oil refinery in Perm and the "Marinovka" military airfield in the Volgograd region. According to available reports, the destruction of a Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber has been confirmed.
“We continue to use our long-range strikes to return the consequences of the war to where it came from,” the head of state wrote.
According to him, the precision strikes reached the oil refinery in Perm. The distance to the target was over 1,600 kilometers from the border.
The second target was the “Marinovka” military airfield in Russia’s Volgograd region. There were also results from strikes in the Black Sea.
The president also spoke about the consequences of earlier attacks:
- a Russian Su-34 aircraft was damaged at the Akhtubinsk airfield, located about 600 kilometers from the front line;
- in Primorsko-Akhtarsk, nearly 180 kilometers away, a facility used for storing, preparing, and launching attack drones—which the Russians use to strike against Ukrainians—was hit.
“Thank you to all units of our Ukrainian Defense Forces for their precision and accuracy. Glory to Ukraine!” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his message of gratitude to the troops.
On the evening of August 20 and overnight on August 21, Russian troops attacked the Nikopol, Synelnykiv, and Pavlohrad districts of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast with drones. Local authorities reported on the consequences of the strikes.
On the night of August 21, Russian troops attacked the village of Lebyazhe in the Chuhuiv district with six strike drones. As a result of the strike, two women were killed, two more were wounded, and private homes were damaged and destroyed.
On the night of August 21, Russia launched a massive drone strike on the Sumy region, targeting Sumy and Konotop. The shelling damaged residential buildings, and at least two people were injured.
