Video: Fires broke out in Moscow and the surrounding region following a drone attack
In Moscow and the Moscow Region, fires broke out at several locations following a massive drone attack. Russian Mayor Sergei Sobyanin stated that approximately 450 drones were allegedly heading toward the capital, and footage of the aftermath of the attack quickly spread online.

Fires broke out in various areas of Moscow and the Moscow Region following the attack. Numerous photos and videos from the scenes have appeared online. Some of the footage is being shared by Russian Telegram channels. At the same time, it is currently difficult to determine the exact extent of the damage at all the sites.
The Moscow Oil Refinery Was Hit
One of the main facilities hit was the “Gazpromneft-Moscow Oil Refinery” in the Kapotni district. A large-scale fire broke out on the refinery’s grounds following the attack, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to the General Staff, three production facilities on the refinery’s grounds were hit simultaneously.
These include the AVT-6 primary oil refining unit, the integrated oil refining unit, and the isomerization unit. Footage posted online shows a large plume of smoke rising above the plant’s grounds. The Moscow Oil Refinery is one of Russia’s major oil refining facilities. The plant produces, among other things, gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel.
Fire at the “Sadovod” Market
Another location reported to have been affected by the attack was the Sadovod Market in Moscow. The Russian Telegram channel CHTD published a video showing smoke in the area of the market’s first building. According to the channel, some of the stores were closed following the attack.
Footage from the “Sadovod” market area was also released by the ASTRA Telegram channel. Information regarding the extent of the damage and possible casualties at the market requires further confirmation. “Sadovod” was previously targeted by drones in June. At that time, a fire was reported on the premises of the shopping complex.
Warehouses were on fire in the Moscow region
A fire also broke out at the “Sofino” technology park in the Moscow region. According to reports from Telegram channels, the fire engulfed part of a large warehouse complex. The technopark covers an area of approximately 826,000–850,000 square meters. It houses the warehouses and distribution centers of major companies.
Among the companies with warehouse or logistics facilities there are Lamoda, Yandex, Wildberries, and Bosch/Siemens. Footage of a major fire on the complex’s grounds has surfaced online. However, the exact area affected by the fire and the extent of the damage have not yet been determined.
What is known about the attack
Russian authorities reported a large number of drones that were allegedly heading toward Moscow. According to Russian officials, some of them were shot down. Meanwhile, following the attack, reports emerged of fires at various facilities in Moscow and the surrounding region.
The most significant of the strikes confirmed by the Ukrainian side was the one on the Moscow Oil Refinery. The General Staff reported damage to three of its production facilities. Information regarding the consequences of the strikes on the “Sadovod” market and the “Sofino” technology park is currently based primarily on reports from Telegram channels and publicly released videos.
