Video: Drones Attacked the Azot Chemical Plant in the Perm Region

On the morning of September 11, the Perm Krai region of Russia was attacked by drones. According to reports from Ukrainian monitoring channels and local residents, the “Azot” plant operated by “Uralchem” in Berezniki may have been targeted.

Videos have appeared online allegedly showing a drone heading toward the plant’s territory. There were also reports of gunfire and a column of smoke in the area of the chemical plant.

Local social media groups report that the sounds of drones flying and possible strikes in Berezniki could be heard throughout the morning. However, there has been no official confirmation of an attack on the plant or information regarding possible consequences from Russian authorities at this time.

“Azot” is one of the largest chemical plants in Russia. The plant produces ammonium nitrate, ammonia solution, urea, nitric acid, and other products, some of which are used in the manufacture of explosives.

The plant is also said to be Russia’s sole producer of sodium nitrate and crystalline sodium nitrite.

Amid reports of the attack in the Perm Krai, a “Drone Threat” alert was issued. Local social media groups also reported that classes had been canceled and students evacuated from a number of educational institutions.
