VIDEO: A Tu-22M3 strategic bomber has crashed in Russia

A Tu-22M3 strategic bomber and missile carrier, which the Russian military uses in missile strikes against Ukraine, crashed in the Irkutsk region of the Russian Federation.

Russian Telegram channels were the first to report the crash, and the Russian Ministry of Defense later confirmed the information.

According to the Russian military, the bomber was conducting a “routine training flight” without munitions and crashed while attempting to land.

The plane crashed near the town of Svirsk in the Irkutsk region. Eyewitnesses reported that the crew members managed to eject before the crash.

After the Tu-22M3 crashed on the banks of the Angara River, a fire broke out, and thick black smoke rose above the crash site.

The Tu-22M3 is one of the carriers of cruise missiles that Russia regularly uses for massive attacks on Ukrainian territory.

The shortage of automotive fuel, previously reported in the temporarily occupied Crimea, has begun to spread to the southern regions of Russia. Residents of the Krasnodar Krai and Rostov Oblast are reporting shortages of gasoline and diesel fuel.

In the temporarily occupied Sevastopol, restrictions on gasoline sales have been imposed due to fuel supply issues following strikes on Russian oil refineries. Russian Telegram channels reported this on May 22.
