Video: Explosions were heard in Rostov-on-Don; a fire broke out at a gas station

On the night of August 5, explosions were heard in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, followed by a fire at a gas station.

Initially, local media reported that the incident may have been caused by an attack on the gas station. However, according to Russian media reports, law enforcement later issued a warrant for the arrest of Oleksiy Ryzhikov, a native of the temporarily occupied city of Melitopol.

According to investigators, the man was filling fuel containers directly inside his car at a gas station in the city’s Northern District, after which he left the vehicle without ensuring it was safe. This resulted in a fire that also spread to other cars.

No official information regarding injuries or fatalities has been reported at this time. Law enforcement agencies are investigating the cause of the incident.

This is according to reports from Russian media.

As a reminder, on the night of August 5, drones attacked the Wildberries logistics complex in Aleksin, Tula Oblast, Russia. The strike hit the company’s largest warehouse in Russia’s Central Federal District, with an area of approximately 300,000 square meters.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin signed a law expanding the list of individuals eligible to enter into contracts with the Ministry of Defense during mobilization, martial law, or wartime.
