On August 22, Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with General Keith Kellogg in Kyiv to discuss the intensification of Russian attacks on infrastructure and the civilian population. They also discussed the supply of interceptors for the Patriot system and Ukraine’s development of its own anti-ballistic system in collaboration with European partners.
“I met with General Keith Kellogg, who traveled from Odesa to Kyiv to participate in our Veterans Forum. Thank you for this gesture of respect toward Ukrainian soldiers, who defend Ukraine and the entire Euro-Atlantic region every day under extremely difficult conditions. We discussed the intensification of Russian strikes on infrastructure and civilians, and the key priority in defense is, of course, ballistic missile defense,” the President wrote.
Zelenskyy briefed Kellogg on Ukraine’s work with European partners to develop a missile defense system. At the same time, he emphasized that the delivery of interceptors for the Patriot air defense system is indispensable for getting through this winter.
“Ukraine is ready to purchase them, and any efforts in this direction are important,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
