Seven people were killed as a result of a massive attack on Kyiv

At least seven people were killed as a result of a combined nighttime attack by the Russian Federation on Kyiv on July 6. Russian forces used ballistic missiles and other air-attack weapons; air defense forces were active in the capital, and significant damage and casualties were reported.

The Air Force warned of ballistic missile launches toward the capital and soon clarified that the situation was becoming more complicated due to the appearance of additional high-speed targets. “Ballistic missiles heading for Kyiv! More high-speed targets heading for Kyiv!” the Air Force reported.

Following the warning, a series of explosions rang out in various districts of Kyiv—this is the air defense units in action. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko urged residents not to leave their shelters. “Air defense forces are operating in the capital. Stay in your shelters!” Klitschko wrote.

Timur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, also warned of the scale of the threat. “The enemy is striking with ballistic missiles. Please stay in shelters,” he wrote.

Unfortunately, the number of casualties continues to rise. As of 5:20 a.m., 24 people have been injured. Meanwhile, rescue workers have recovered two more bodies from the rubble, bringing the death toll to seven.

This was reported by Tkachenko.

Earlier, Zelenskyy warned that Russia was preparing a new massive strike.

As a reminder, the Russians last launched a massive attack on Ukraine on the night of July 2. At that time, Russian forces launched 496 UAVs of various types and 74 missiles—air-, ground-, and sea-based—of various types at Ukraine.
