The enemy has doubled the number of drone attacks in southern Ukraine
Russian occupation forces have significantly stepped up their use of unmanned aerial vehicles in the southern sector, doubling the intensity of their strikes in recent weeks.
This was reported by Vladislav Voloshin, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, in a comment to LIGA.net.
The enemy is increasingly using loitering munitions such as the “Molniya-2” and “Lancet” to strike Ukrainian positions and rear facilities.
The spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces reported that the enemy’s use of drones is rapidly increasing.
While just two or three weeks ago Ukrainian defenders recorded about 300 strikes per day, today that figure has reached 550 attacks daily.
The increase in the number of drones indicates the aggressor’s attempt to expand the scope of hostilities.
The occupiers are seeking to deliver precision strikes against the logistics routes of the Ukrainian Defense Forces to make it as difficult as possible to supply ammunition and reserves to the front lines.
“This indicates that the enemy is seeking to increase the area of impact, the range of operation, and to strike our forces’ logistics routes,” noted Vladyslav Voloshyn.
In addition to the increase in the number of UAVs, there has also been a shift in the tactics for using aerial weapons.
According to the spokesperson, the Russian army has shifted to massive shelling of populated areas with guided aerial bombs.
Previously, the invaders would launch three to five guided bombs at individual targets, but the situation has now significantly worsened.
As a reminder, Russian drones are deliberately targeting journalists.
Additionally, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have received JEDI Shahed Hunter interceptor drones to destroy the "Shaheds."
