Russian army losses over the past day amount to 780 troops and one air defence system
As of 4 February 2026, the total combat losses of Russian forces in the war against Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion are estimated at approximately 1,243,070 personnel. Over the past 24 hours alone, Russia lost 780 servicemenand one air defence system.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.

Russia’s total losses also include 11,637 tanks (+4), 23,992 armoured fighting vehicles (+7), 36,915 artillery systems(+60), 1,634 multiple launch rocket systems (+1), 1,293 air defence systems (+1), 435 aircraft (+0), 347 helicopters(+0), 123,743 operational-tactical UAVs (+1,355), 4,245 cruise missiles (+40), 28 warships / boats (+0), 2 submarines(+0), 76,949 vehicles and fuel tankers (+211), and 4,062 units of special equipment (+4).
Earlier, a scandal broke out in a battalion in Sumy region involving a mock execution and a gunshot wound to the leg.
