Over the past 24 hours, Russia has lost 1,190 troops and air defense systems in the war against Ukraine

The Russian army’s total combat losses since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine have reached approximately 1,408,340 servicemembers. In the past 24 hours alone, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated another 1,190 invaders.

According to updated data, from February 24, 2022, to July 4, 2026, the Russian army has lost:

According to the General Staff, Russian forces suffered their heaviest losses over the past 24 hours in unmanned aerial vehicles and artillery. Ukrainian defenders destroyed 1,768 operational-tactical-level drones, 100 artillery systems, and 407 vehicles and tankers.

The General Staff emphasizes that these figures are preliminary and continue to be refined.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi visited combat units holding defensive positions in the Orikhiv and Huliaipole sectors in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. During the visit, he discussed the situation on the front lines with commanders and issued the necessary orders to strengthen defenses. According to him, Russian troops continue to press forward, regardless of their losses.

Meanwhile, Roman Svitan, a reserve colonel in the Ukrainian Armed Forces and a military expert, believes that the Ukrainian Defense Forces’ operation in occupied Crimea has entered a new phase. He said that following strikes against Russian air defense systems and logistics, the main targets are now military facilities, energy infrastructure, and the infrastructure supporting the occupying forces.
