Over the past 24 hours, the Russians have attacked Ukraine nearly 200 times, with the heaviest attacks occurring in the Kostiantynivka sector
Since the start of the day on September 29, there have been 189 combat engagements on the front lines. Russian troops carried out the most attacks in the Kostiantynivka sector, where Ukrainian forces repelled 20 assaults. The enemy was also active in the Pokrovsk and Lyman sectors.
Heavy fighting continues on the front lines throughout September 29. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of 10:00 p.m., 189 combat engagements had been recorded since the start of the day. Russian forces also carried out one missile strike and 46 airstrikes. The enemy used 172 guided aerial bombs, launched 5,763 kamikaze drones, and carried out 1,938 shelling attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas.
Russian forces were most active in the Kostiantynivka sector. Defense forces repelled 20 assaults there. Fighting took place near Kostiantynivka and in the direction of Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, Novoselivka, Rozkishne, Stepanivka, Toretsk, Vilne, and Kuchero-Yar. According to the latest reports from the General Staff, this area remains one of the key sectors on the eastern front.
The Pokrovsk sector was the second most active. There, Russian units attempted to break through Ukrainian defenses 14 times.
The occupiers launched assaults in the areas of Svitly, Krasnopodillia, Novohryshyne, Kucheriv Yar, Serhiivka, and Molodetske. As of this evening, two firefights in this sector were still ongoing. According to preliminary estimates by the Ukrainian military, 26 Russian soldiers were killed and three others were wounded in the Pokrovsk sector during the day.
Ukrainian defenders also destroyed a Russian special-purpose vehicle and three shelters. Another vehicle and 48 personnel shelters were damaged. Separately, the military reported operations against Russian drones. In the Pokrovsk sector, 174 UAVs of various types were destroyed or neutralized.
In the Lyman sector, Russian forces attempted to advance seven times. The attacks took place in the areas of Shyikivka, Novoselivka, Zarichne, Drobyshove, and Dibrova. As of the evening, one battle was still ongoing.
In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, one enemy assault was recorded. Russian forces also carried out one airstrike using four guided bombs and conducted 45 shelling attacks on Ukrainian military positions and populated areas. Four of these shelling incidents involved the use of multiple-launch rocket systems.
In the Southern Slobozhansky sector, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions five times. The Russians attempted to advance toward Starytsia, Okhrimivka, Mala Vovcha, and Vilkhuvatka. One attack was still ongoing at the time of the evening report.
In the Kupiansk sector, Russian forces made one attempt to improve their positions by launching an assault toward Putnykove.
In the Sloviansk direction, the Defense Forces repelled four enemy attempts to advance. Fighting took place in the areas of Ozerny, Piskunivka, and Mykolaivka. One Russian assault was still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian troops did not carry out any active offensive operations.
In the Oleksandrivka sector, the occupiers attacked toward Novoheorhiivka.
In the Hulyaypilske sector, the Defense Forces repelled a Russian attack near Rizdvyanka.
In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy made three attempts to improve its position. Russian units attacked toward Zarichne and Pavlivka.
In the Dnipro sector, no enemy offensive operations were recorded.
Thus, the main flashpoint throughout September 29 remains the Kostiantynivka sector, where Russian troops carried out the most assaults—20. Significant activity also continues near Pokrovsk and in the Lyman sector. The General Staff notes that as of the evening, there were no significant changes in the situation on other sections of the front.
