Zelenskyy said the Kremlin fears announcing a large-scale mobilization

In 2026, the Russian Federation intends to recruit 409,000 people into its armed forces to continue its aggression against Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about the critical situation within the ranks of the occupying forces during an interview with Le Monde.

The head of state emphasized Moscow’s inability to quickly replenish its manpower for combat operations.

“Historically, the Russians are losing, without a doubt. They are currently losing a truly staggering number of people—30,000 to 35,000 people per month,” noted the President of Ukraine.

Such colossal losses are forcing the Kremlin to seek new methods of replenishing the army.

Currently, the Russian leadership is trying to avoid open mass mobilization due to fears of internal destabilization.

The main tool for recruiting manpower remains financial incentives and the offer of high contract pay.

“Will they decide to carry out a large-scale mobilization? I cannot say. So far, they have been afraid of such steps and have only been recruiting people on contracts for large sums of money,” explained Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

As a reminder, the President of Ukraine warned that the Russian Federation is planning new armed conflicts in the coming years and continues to destabilize Europe.

Zelenskyy also spoke about the work of the special services in the new Russian messaging app.
