Ukrainian Armed Forces restore full control over the village of Prydorozhnie in Zaporizhzhia region

Ukrainian Armed Forces restore full control over the village of Prydorozhnie in Zaporizhzhia region

Ukrainian defenders from the 33rd Separate Assault Regiment carried out a successful clearing operation in the village of Prydorozhnie in Zaporizhzhia district, completely eliminating the enemy presence.

According to the military and analysts from the OSINT project DeepState, the Russian side attempted to pass wishful thinking off as reality by sending a reconnaissance and sabotage group to plant its flag for demonstrative purposes and create fake photo reports allegedly showing the capture of the village. As a result of counter-sabotage measures, the enemy DRG was destroyed, and the State Flag of Ukraine continues to fly over the settlement.

The military command refuted earlier claims by Russia’s Ministry of Defence about the occupation of Prydorozhnie, stressing that the occupiers traditionally “draw maps on credit”. At present, the situation in the village is under the full control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the presence of assault units on the ground is direct evidence of the failure of yet another Russian attempt to advance in this sector of the front.

Official sources emphasise that despite increased Russian pressure on the Zaporizhzhia axis, the Defence Forces are effectively containing attacks and promptly neutralising any attempts by sabotage groups to infiltrate the rear of Ukrainian positions.

This incident has become part of a broader Russian information campaign aimed at creating the illusion of rapid advances in the south in order to undermine Ukrainian morale. Russia continues to employ the tactic of so-called “flag raids”, where media fixation on symbolic presence is prioritised over the actual holding of territory. However, the coordinated actions of Ukrainian assault troops not only allowed control over Prydorozhnie to be maintained, but once again demonstrated the Defence Forces’ readiness to deliver a firm response to any Russian provocations in border and frontline areas.

In the area of the settlement of Dehtiarske in Kharkiv region, active hostilities have been ongoing for some time due to attempts by Russian forces to infiltrate and establish control over the border zone.

The situation on the eastern front remains tense: Russian occupying forces have managed to advance near three settlements in Donetsk region.

On 7 February, Russian occupiers also exerted the greatest pressure on the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka directions.
