The Ukrainian Armed Forces have killed a high-ranking official from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the occupied Kherson region
In the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region, Ukrainian forces have killed Russian Emergency Situations Ministry Colonel Ivan Buzin. According to Russian sources, he was killed along with his wife in a drone strike. He held a position within the occupation administration responsible for civil protection. The report states: “Russian EMERCOM Colonel Ivan Buzin has been eliminated on the left bank of the Kherson region. Before moving to the occupied territories, Buzin worked within the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Volgograd region. According to open-source data, he was born in 1975 in the Vologda region and served in the Russian military. After the start of the full-scale war, he ended up in the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region around 2024. There, according to reports, he worked in educational institutions and performed duties within the so-called “civil protection” system of the occupation administration.
Russian media also confirm his death, noting that the strike was carried out by a drone. Other details of the incident have not yet been disclosed. Information about the event continues to be clarified; official comments from the Ukrainian side have not yet been released.
The Ukrainian military carried out a series of strikes on warehouses, command posts, and concentrations of Russian troops. Targets in the Donetsk, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia regions, as well as in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, came under fire. The consequences of the attacks are still being assessed.
