Queensland 18-year-old faces 30 charges — ABC News Australia
In Australia, an 18-year-old resident of Queensland has been charged with 30 offences, including transmitting violent extremist material and possessing material involving child abuse. According to ABC News, police allege that the man operated several social media channels that supported violence against Muslims, Jews and migrants.
Investigation following FBI notification
Police said the investigation began after a notification from the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation. It concerned an Australian user of a social platform who allegedly distributed extremist content.
On 27 May, officers from the Queensland Joint Counter Terrorism Team searched a home in Warner, north of Brisbane. During the search, they seized several electronic devices.

Charges and court
Police allege that an examination of the seized devices found extremist material and material involving child abuse. The charges include using a communications service to transmit violent extremist material, harassing or causing offence through a communications service, as well as possessing or controlling such material.
On 27 May, the man first appeared in court and was remanded in custody. The next hearing is due to take place at Pine Rivers Magistrates Court.
