On May 26, a powerful magnetic storm hit Earth

On Tuesday, May 26, a powerful red-level geomagnetic storm with a K-index of 5 began on Earth.

This phenomenon was caused by a massive X2.7-class solar flare, which is currently the most intense of 2026.

The space weather event has already caused serious disruptions and radio delays in high-frequency communication bands in several regions of the planet.

According to satellite observation systems, solar activity remains consistently high. The epicenter of the eruption was recorded in the most dynamic zone of our star.

Experts warn of a high probability of new geomagnetic disturbances in the near future.

Current monitoring data confirm a complex situation surrounding the Earth’s atmosphere. Leading global laboratories are recording fluctuations in the magnetic field.

Currently, the storm is classified as moderate, but with a clear tendency toward sustained high activity levels.

A powerful plasma eruption from the solar corona served as the immediate catalyst for the space storm. International astronomical services are closely monitoring the movement of these flows.

It is worth noting that previous forecasts indicated a gradual increase in the intensity of fluctuations during various observation periods.

In May 2026, several periods of solar activity are expected, which may affect the well-being of weather-sensitive people and the operation of electronic devices.
