Afghanistan says 28 militants killed after crossing from Pakistan — Jerusalem Post

Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defense said its forces killed 28 militants and wounded another 32 in the eastern province of Nuristan. According to the ministry, this occurred after the group crossed the border from Pakistan. The ministry also claims that the group included individuals it described as terrorists from the Islamic State group.

Claims by the Afghan ministry

Afghanistan’s defense ministry said the militants were supported by Pakistani militias. The ministry also claims that most members of the group had previously served in the security forces of the previous Afghan government.
