Argentina says Chile will not provide logistical support to Falklands oil industry
The Argentine government said that Chile will continue to support Argentina's claims to the Falkland Islands and will not provide logistical support for hydrocarbon extraction on the islands. This was announced by Adrián Ravier, spokesperson for the Argentine presidential administration, after a meeting between Presidents Javier Milei and José Antonio Kast.
Statement by Argentine authorities
As MercoPress reports, Ravier stressed that this is a diplomatic rather than a military statement and that it does not envisage a military conflict with the United Kingdom.

The spokesperson also said that the naval base planned by Milei in Tierra del Fuego will be fully financed by Argentina, without cooperation with the United States or other countries. According to him, the president instructed Economy Minister Luis Caputo to allocate the necessary budget funds for the construction of the base.
Position on logistics
Earlier, Argentine Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno stated that Chile supports Argentina's position on the Malvinas Islands and will not provide logistical support for oil from the islands. The publication notes that if this position is implemented, the ports of Argentina and Chile may be unavailable for supplying the oil industry in the Falkland Islands.
