Nigerian Army declares Ifeanyi Eze wanted and offers reward
The Nigerian Army has declared Ifeanyi Eze, known as Gentle De Yahoo, wanted and offered a reward of 30 million naira for credible information that would help apprehend him. This was reported by Premium Times Nigeria. Eze is from Imo State in southeastern Nigeria.
Reward for information
The wanted notice was issued by the Joint Task Force Operation Udo Ka, which operates in the country’s southeast. It states that the reward will be given to a person who provides credible information leading to Eze’s arrest.
The military provided contact numbers for reports and said information can be submitted anonymously. The notice features a photograph of Eze, as well as the logos of the Nigerian Army and Operation Udo Ka.
Operation Udo Ka is a joint security task force led by the army. According to the publication, its task is to counter criminal networks and armed groups in the region, including activities that authorities link to the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) movement.

Previous statement on apprehension
Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters had previously stated that Operation Udo Ka troops had “captured” Eze during an operation in Imo State that lasted from October 8 to 13, 2025. However, on January 28, 2026, a video circulated in which, according to Premium Times Nigeria, Eze announced his return and threatened people whom he accused of betrayal.
During a briefing at the end of January, Director of Defence Media Operations Michael Onoja said the video recording may have been created using artificial intelligence. He added that security agencies would verify whether Eze had indeed returned.
Links to the group
According to the publication, Eze calls himself a supporter of Biafra’s independence and is linked to several deadly attacks in the Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State. Premium Times Nigeria also describes him as the commander of the Biafra Liberation Army in Okigwe. According to the publication, the group was founded by Simon Ekpa, the leader of Autopilot, a faction of IPOB.
