Most of Uralvagonzavod's enterprises remain unaffected by sanctions

More than half of the factories belonging to the Russian conglomerate Uralvagonzavod remain unaffected by international sanctions. Despite this, these facilities play a key role in the production of military equipment in Russia.

This is reported by GuildHall.

The relevant data is included in a list of enterprises compiled by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

This refers to 23 out of 41 enterprises that are part of or managed by the holding company, which in turn is part of the state corporation "Rostec."

According to intelligence data published on the War&Sanctions portal, these plants continue to operate without restrictions from any of the countries in the sanctions coalition.

"Uralvagonzavod" carries out the most critical tasks in supplying the Russian armed forces: it manufactures and modernizes T-90M "Proryv," T-72B3M, and T-80BVM tanks, "Solntsepek" heavy flamethrower systems, as well as tank support combat vehicles and armored recovery and evacuation vehicles.

The concern also manufactures railway cars and platforms, but since 2022, the holding’s enterprises have significantly reduced the production of civilian goods, fully refocusing on fulfilling state defense orders, the statement says.

Among the enterprises that have so far avoided sanctions are design bureaus that developed platforms for transporting tanks to combat zones, manufacturers of training stands and simulators for training armored vehicle crews, as well as plants that supply the main production with resources, equipment, and related services.

Earlier, the Main Intelligence Directorate also reported that Uralvagonzavod continues to use hundreds of units of foreign equipment in its operations.

Intelligencehas revealed who is actually arming the Russian Federation’s army.
