Nearly half of Britons believe the country could go to war within the next five years
A survey by the consulting firm Public First found that approximately 40% of the UK population believes it is possible that the country could be involved in a war within the next five years.
This is according to a survey by Public First, a policy and research consulting firm, as reported by Sky News.
At the same time, only 42% of respondents said they would feel compelled to act in the event of a threat. More than two-thirds of those surveyed fear they would not be able to effectively handle a conflict.
The survey also revealed a shift in perceptions of the U.S.: 57% of Britons now view America as a potential threat, following Russia, Iran, North Korea, and China.
As a reminder, according to the survey results, 71% of Ukrainians do not believe that the current negotiations will lead to a lasting peace.
In early March, trust in Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy rose by 9% compared to February—he is supported by 62% of those surveyed.
